Caversham Traders Awards 2011
We're On a Winning Street!
Prospect Street in Caversham has proved this week that it is streets ahead of the rest of Reading's Retail offer. No less than four of its shops were finalists and winners in Reading's Retail Awards at the Madjeski Stadium on Friday. Also, two new stores have just opened their doors to customers.

Jennings, Dancia, Delicious and WordPlay with their Awards
The winners in Reading's coveted Retail Awards were Delicious which took the biscuit for the second year in a row in the category of My Favourite Coffee Shop, Jennings the butchers who proved themselves the top side of the Shop I Can't Live Without and WordPlay Books and Toys who were the Best Sellers in the award given to the Reading shop with the Best Promotional Initiative, for all its work for the Caversham Community. All the shops are located on Prospect Street within a stone's throw from each other. Is it something in the water?!
Deirdre Smith owner of WordPlay Books and Toys said:
"We are delighted to win this award and thanks to the judges and of course to our customers! Caversham is becoming a buzzy retail destination in its own right. It's very good for families. This is a ringing endorsement for the interest and value our small independent stores offer to shoppers."
The good news for Caversham's main shopping street doesn't stop there. Dancia International was runner up in two categories and only next door a new concept in toddler parties, Make and Do has just opened. And not an accessory, but hopefully a staple of Caversham's wardrobe for many years to come is Carousel a nearly new designer dress agency.
