One of the joys of Christmas is to listen to (and sing along with) Christmas songs and carols.  So, with that in mind, the members of South Chiltern Choral Society (SCCS) are delighted to invite you to a musical celebration of the Christmas story, when they will be performing Shawn Kirchner’s Behold New Joy and Bob Chilcott’s On Christmas Night. The former weaves together a modern medley of well-known carols from medieval times; the latter follows the sequence of the Christmas story using several familiar carol melodies within Chilcott’s own settings.

Conducted by Paul Burke and accompanied by Ian Westley, the SCCS will be joined by the choir of The Hill Primary School and professional instrumentalists including the amazing Alexander Pullen, who appeared in the BBC Young Musicians 2018 percussion final.  There will also be opportunities for the audience to sing carols along with the choir.

The concerts will be held on Saturday 8th December at 7.30pm and Sunday 9th December at 2pm at Chiltern Edge School, Reades Lane, Sonning Common, RG4 9LN where there is free parking and wheelchair access.

Tickets are available via the choir’s website (www.southchilternchoralsociety.org.uk.) and cost £12 for adults and £6 for children 6-18 years old.  Tickets for children under 6 are free.  Tickets can be purchased on the door at the higher cost of £14 (adults); £7 children (6-18 yrs).

We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any queries, please call 07931 902495
