Step aboard Whittington’s for the ultimate in traditional British refreshment. Created and run by Andrew and Lesley, Whittington’s sets out to recreate the traditional feel and values of an English tea room, in relaxed surroundings on the water.

On board our modern canal barge, you’ll find a tea room with a difference. Contemporary surroundings combine with a traditional approach to preparing and serving great British breakfasts, lunches and afternoon tea. Our cream teas are the equal of anything you might enjoy at a fine hotel.

Park in Hill’s Meadows Car Park on George Street and you will find us on the Thames at the bottom of the car park. Stop off to enjoy the finest in freshly prepared food and drink. We specialise in tea – but if you insist, we’ll make you a delicious cup of fresh coffee, instead!

Whittington’s aims to serve home made or locally sourced,  freshly prepared good food – so you’ll be able to taste the difference.

Our breakfast menu includes a hearty British fry-up with all the trimmings, buttered toast and marmalade, washed down with a cup of tea or coffee – a great way to start your day.

Our light lunches combine simple, freshly prepared meals that match the season, from summer salads to warming winter soups.

We serve a wide range of teas to suit all palates, with a regularly changing menu of speciality teas from around the world. Freshly baked scones, served with cream and jam, are the centrepiece of the Whittington’s afternoon tea.

We take bookings for lunch – call now to reserve a table on 07986 733 638.

Whittington’s is the ideal venue for a birthday party, celebration lunch, drinks reception, company function, product launch, private meeting or even a business networking meeting.
