...the way of the warrior ...the way of harmony
White Oak Aikido offers classes in the Japanese martial art of Aikido in Reading. We run a rolling eight-week Foundation Course, so you can start whenever you wish. Aikido is a modern martial art based on traditional arts used by the samurai. Highly relevant in today's high-stress, confrontational world, Aikido teaches evasion techniques and taking an attacker's power into a throw or immobilisation. Get fitter and improve your co-ordination, flexibility and reaction speed.
Classes run every Tuesday evening from 20:00-21:30 at the Caversham Heights Methodist Hall. The eight-week beginners' course costs only £60 (waged) or £50 (unwaged) and includes insurance, access to the online handbook and the training video. Try a free, no-obligation, no hard-sell, taster session. Additional Aikido classes in Reading are available at the YMCA in West Reading on Thursdays 19:30-21:30 and Sundays 16:30-18:30.
Our teaching team comprises male and female Aikido instructors. Our senior instructor holds the rank of 6th dan and is recognised by the British Aikido Board as a Level 3 Coach and also holds the Award in Education and Training.
