Love Caversham

Christmas 2019 - Caversham Late Night Shopping Friday 6 December

Friday from 5pm – 8.30pm on the 6th December Christmas Image - Couple with child next to tree2019 Caversham will be welcoming visitors to their annual Late-Night Shopping event.  This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, a real all-singing, all-dancing spectacular.

Caversham boasts a whole host of independent and family owned shops, eateries and businesses making it a great place to stock up on some fantastic festive gifts.  Many of the shops will be open and there will be stall holders from the Caversham Artisan and Farmers Market in the precinct offering you the opportunity to buy unique gifts for your family and friends.

Santa will be welcoming guests to his special grotto in the Caversham Emporium. He’s a ‘reverse Santa’ which means he’ll be accepting gifts from visitors which will later be distributed to local children who don’t have much to look forward to this Christmas.  The charities chosen this year are The Lions Children’s Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and Reading Family Aid.  Santa will also be holding story telling sessions for the children.

There will be plenty to keep everyone entertained in the precinct on the evening, with performances to get you in the festive spirit, by pupils from Hemdean House School, Theatretrain, Vocalese, the New Testament Church of God Choir, the Market Buskers and Caversham singer, Josie Tyacke.  Josie will also be performing in various other venues around Caversham throughout the evening.

Whether you are shopping or not, the event on Friday 6th December will provide you with an excellent opportunity to support Caversham, fill those stockings, experience some festive food and drink and enjoy the free entertainment and free parking.

The event starts from 5pm so grab your coat, hat and scarf and join the fun.

There’s lots more information about the event, and loads more about what Caversham has to offer, on the Choose Caversham website and social media pages, both Facebook and Instagram.

Organised by the Caversham traders Association.
