Memoirs of a High Flyer by Keith Durbidge, a local war hero

Memoirs of a High Flyer by Keith Durbidge

Keith Durbidge was a spitfire reconnaissance pilot turned flight instructor. Born in Caversham, Keith went on to teach at Reading Blue Coat School before entering university and joining the Air Training Squadron. After becoming a spitfire pilot Keith was moved from America to Malta where he photographed enemy territories. When the war was over Keith once again lived in America and then Nigeria, before finally coming home and living in Scotland with his wife and three children.

Keith wrote his memoirs as a means of rehabilitation after recovering from a stroke. He wrote his story with the same sense of humour and thoughfulness that he showed throughout his lifetime.
