A fresh new look, impressive secret garden and brilliant Banger Bros menu – The Crown in Caversham is back with a bang. Once the site of an English Civil War skirmish in 1643, Caversham has blossomed into an affluent River Thames backwater with The Crown taking centre stage at the heart of the community. Step in to discover a newly bright and airy pub, decked in shades of soft grey and deep red.

New for spring 2017, The Crown has teamed up with the guys at Banger Bros to offer a menu bursting with meaty delicacies. Find out why they’re known as the ‘home of the dog’ with a feast of gourmet hot dogs and epic burgers with international twists, each chargrilled to order. How about the Korean Dog with kimchi, gochujang mayo and shallots or the Smokey Polish topped with hot horseradish, sauerkraut and sweet mustard? Alternatively, keep things patriotic with The British – a Lincolnshire pork banger topped with good old English mustard.

Burger fans can delight in 100% beef burgers served in the same satisfying combinations, all nestled in a signature toasted brioche. Try only-for-the-brave toppings such as melted jalapeños cheese, piquillo peppers, pickled jalapeños and a smoky hot chipotle. Layer on the Filthy Filthy fries, topped with pulled pork, melted cheese and pickles on the side, or add a refreshing apple slaw to top it all off. Love a little mash with your sausage? Go traditional with The Londoner, or opt for the Hot Smoked Toulouse, Beef & Stout or Veggie, served with your choice of mustard, spring onion or cheese laced mash and plenty of sweet gravy.
