Volunteers wanted for Reading Festival Week

Reading Borough Council are providing additional bins in various locations but in past years there has still been a lot of litter on surrounding streets.  On each day from 4 pm on Wednesday 22 August to Tuesday 28 August Caversham Globe are planning a "litter pick", with muster point of corner of Hemdean Road and Church Street by Warings Bakery.  The plan is to clear litter from an area bounded by the centre point of Caversham Bridge including the viewing areas on the upstream and downstream sides of the bridge, Bridge Street, Promenade Road, Church Road, Church Street, Hemdean Road, Gosbrook Road, plus all adjoining streets, paths and accessible areas including riverside path and parkland along the Thames.
If you can help out please contact Richard Denney via the GLOBE email [email protected] or phone/text 07768 958407 by Tuesday 21 August to add your name and to request a hi-viz tabard, litter picker and sacks if you don't have them already.

In past years a dedicated few GLOBE supporters have helped keep central Caversham significantly cleaner than it would otherwise have been at festival time.  Could you spare and hour this year please?  It doesn't have to be every day.
